What We Do

Single Women's Lodge

Located at The Purdue Center of Hope, the Single Women's Lodge is a handicapped accessible shelter for single homeless women with a capacity of 20 women per night.

The Single Women's Lodge provides shelter and case management to:

  • Women who are chronically homeless due to mental illness, substance abuse and/or physical disabilities.
  • Women who need temporary shelter due to a loss of income, eviction, lack of affordable housing and/or domestic violence.

The women who enter the program stay a maximum of 90 days, and are provided with safe housing, nutritional meals and individual case management.

Although it is a short-term program, the staff works hard to help women turn their lives around. Case workers frequently help women enroll in mental health or substance abuse programs and stay in touch to track their progress. The case workers also help select appropriate educational opportunities, employment, job training and/or counseling. Our staff understands it can take several attempts before a positive life change occurs, and we remain committed to that goal.
