Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC)

The Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a long-term residential care facility that serves as home to 86 men who want to change the direction and purpose of their lives. The goal of the ARC is to provide each man with the foundation and skills necessary to deal with life's daily challenges with a renewed sense of spirit and discipline.

Applicants for admission to the ARC program are at various stages in their personal development. Virtually all have substance abuse issues (alcohol, drugs or both). Almost all have made bad choices in the past that may limit their opportunities to live in a stable environment, and to grow spiritually and emotionally. Before being admitted into the ARC program, applicants must meet with an intake counselor to discuss their current situation and approach to life, then put together a personal assessment and establish goals for healthy living. All applicants must agree to abide by the program rules and regulations.

Once applicants are admitted into the ARC program, they live in a safe, Christian environment where men can work to restore and rebuild their self-image through counseling, work therapy, life skills courses, spiritual guidance and a renewed sense of self-worth. Residents also are offered literacy and GED classes that will help them resume their place in the community by providing them with the skills necessary to seek gainful employment.

All of these services are provided at no charge.

The program maintains a zero tolerance policy for drug and alcohol use, and random drug testing may be requested at any time. Failure to pass a drug or alcohol test will result in immediate removal from the program. Tobacco is not permitted inside the facility. The center maintains a library and reading area, snack bar and recreation area. Pets are not permitted.

Residents of the program are required to attend weekly worship services, as well as group classes and recovery meetings.

After the 10-month program is complete, clients are given the opportunity to be part of the Step-up program where they can look for employment and take steps toward independent living.
