Donations That Can Change a Life

With crisp air settling in, people begin cleaning out their closets to make room for the holiday season. We ask you to remember The Salvation Army’s Family Store when it’s time for you to freshen up your closet. Items sold in The Family Store are the sole source of funding for the Adult Rehabilitation Center programs, which provide spiritual and emotional assistance for men who have lost their way.

The Family Store accepts new to gently-used donations of clothing, furniture, small appliances and electronics, books, jewelry and many other treasures. Donations can be dropped off at the main location at 2649 Kirby Whitten or at the donation center on Germantown Parkway at Dexter Road. You can also arrange for your donation to be picked up by calling 1-800-SA-TRUCK (728-7825).

Kroc Center is Coming Together
for the Community

With steel frames in place, the Kroc Center is coming together nicely and is on schedule for completion in fall of 2011. This time next year, Kroc will be gearing up for its first Christmas in the new 100,000 square-foot facility. It’s exciting to think about the ways the community will be able to come together at Kroc during the holiday season.

To help the Kroc Center prepare for its opening, the center has launched a survey for Memphians to gauge future interests regarding volunteer opportunities and membership. If you are interested in becoming a Kroc volunteer or member, let us know by visiting www.krocmemphis.org. There is no obligation when filling out the survey. Interest cards and drop boxes will also be located at the Angel Tree kick-off on Friday, November 19th at all Angel Tree mall locations and at the Angel Tree Distribution Center. We can’t wait to hear from you!
