Christmas is just around the corner and The Salvation Army is busy preparing for the season. Will you be one of our elves?
Bringing joy to those in need and sharing with the less fortunate are all part of what makes the holiday season a special time of year. Now more than ever, The Salvation Army needs your help in spreading Christmas cheer to the thousands of children and seniors in need by participating in The Angel Tree Program.
The Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides underprivileged children and seniors with holiday gifts such as clothes, toys and other necessities. The program relies on the generosity of the community and this year we especially need the help of individuals, corporations, civic groups and churches to make this Christmas special for the 7,000+ angels.
Participation in this program is very rewarding and a great experience for members of the community to share. Selecting the perfect presents and making a genuine difference in the Angels’ lives is truly a gratifying way to spread Christmas cheer.
For individual angel adoptions, visit the Angel Tree booths at Wolfchase Galleria, Oak Court Mall and Carrefour at Kirby Woods from Saturday, November 21 until Saturday, December 12. Corporations, civic groups and churches can also adopt angels until October, 22nd. For those corporations that adopt more than 15 angels, The Salvation Army will arrange pick up of your gifts.
Corporate sponsors for the 2009 Angel Tree program include AutoZone, FedEx, International Paper, Valero Refinery, Technicolor, Cellular South, Flextronics and The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary.
WREG News Channel 3, Rock 103 and News Radio 600WREC are media sponsors for the 2009 Angel Tree program.
For more information on corporate Angel Tree adoptions, please contact Lynn Shettles at 901.260.9118, or download the form here. The deadline for corporate adoptions is Thursday, October 22.
