The Salvation Army Honors its
Everyday Heroes at Annual Dinner

The Salvation Army’s “Everyday Heroes: Building a Solid Community” Annual Dinner, presented by Sun Trust Bank, made for a spectacular evening. Mike Huckabee, 44th Governor of Arkansas and 2008 Presidential candidate, mesmerized the audience as he delivered his entertaining keynote speech. Huckabee spoke on the significance of giving back and shared his personal experiences with The Salvation Army while serving as Governor of Arkansas.

This year’s dinner was all about recognizing the everyday heroes who are committed to “doing the most good” in our community. During the evening, volunteers were honored for their dedication to community service and received the following awards:

Servant Leadership Award – Meg and Scott Crosby
Heart to God, Hand to Man Award – Steve Nelson
Doing the Most Good Award – Nancy Leggett
Special Recognition to – WREG-News Channel 3

Tears were brought to people’s eyes as one former client, Jennifer Woods, shared her heroic story of recovery during the video A Hero Among Us. The audience saw how one person got a second chance at life with the help of The Salvation Army. Click here to watch the video.
