Count Down to 100. Only 88 Days Until Brigadier Gertrude Purdue Becomes a Centenarian
For almost 100 years, Brigadier Gertrude Purdue has been a beacon on life for the underserved, the homeless, the hopeless and the sick. Even though she is poised on the cusp of her second century, she still finds ways to actively support the community and help those who need it the most.
The Salvation Army will be honoring Gertrude on May 18th on her 100th birthday at the Annual Dinner. TV personality, Willard Scott will be the guest speaker. As part of the festivities surrounding Gertrude's birthday, we have launched Donate Your Age, a campaign aimed at raising $100,000 in 100 days to support programs at The Purdue Center of Hope in honor of Gertrude's 100th birthday. We are asking individuals to donate their age to The Salvation Army. Feeling coy about your age? You can always donate Gertrude's age -- $100.
Please visit www.donateyourageonline.com to learn more about Gertrude's lifelong commitment to serving others. Here, you can sign a guest book wishing Gertrude a happy birthday, look at photos from her life, learn more about The Purdue Center of Hope which was dedicated in 2000, in honor of Gertrude and her husband Brigadier Bramwell Purdue, learn more about the Annual Dinner and of course…you can Donate Your Age in honor of Gertrude.
If you are moved by Gertrude's generosity and life, please send all of your friends locally and around the country the link to the Donate Your Age site.
