Social Media Steps for The Salvation Army
A new era of social media has emerged and changed the way people interact with each other. Tweets and Facebook messages are now as commonplace as face-to-face interaction and phone calls. In order to continue to reach a broad audience and share its message of compassion and love with thousands, The Salvation Army has joined the digital community.
We are executing a social media plan using Facebook and Twitter, two of the largest and most popular networking sites. Our new fan page is open to all Memphians and it is a great source to keep up with current news and events from The Salvation Army.
A page dedicated to Brigadier Gertrude Purdue has also been created. This personal page, updated by The Salvation Army, focuses on this inspiring centenarian and her continued daily dedication to helping others. Photos of Gertrude’s life, daily updates about her weekly activities and interesting tidbits on things she has seen over the past century are detailed on her Facebook page. She is the oldest person in Memphis to have a Facebook account, so become her friend today! http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1521332940&ref=ts
