Continuing to Serve Others
Everyone is aware of a will’s importance in distributing your property and assets; but, a will can also pass on your values and beliefs, too. Dying without a will initiates a legal process called "intestate succession." If you pass away without a will, the state of Tennessee will dictate the final allocation of your assets. This takes the decision-making away from you and your loved ones, and gives it to the state.
Think of your will as an expression of the values – material and spiritual – that you have acquired in your lifetime and wish to pass on. That is why we would like to ask you to consider a gift to The Salvation Army through your will. When you give to The Salvation Army through a gift by will, you not only help provide disaster relief, adult rehabilitation, emergency services to the needy, camps, community centers and youth programs. You also offer a last testament of the principles of your life – a desire to better your community, loving, caring, helping and sharing.
The Salvation Army can help you ensure that your wishes are respected beyond your passing. We have trained estate planning professionals on staff who can visit with you, at no cost or obligation, to discuss your wishes and the best methods for ensuring they are carried out through your estate plans. If you would like further information about completing your will, please contact Ellen Solich at 1-877-647-8575. This is a toll-free call and Ellen will be happy to set up your free and confidential visit.
