Spirits Shine During ARC’s
March Completion Banquet

On Tuesday, March 2, the mission of The Salvation Army shined as the Adult Rehabilitation Center’s clients and their families, Women’s Auxiliary members and Salvation Army staff and volunteers gathered together to celebrate the men in the ARC’s six-month work-therapy program.

The monthly completion banquet was held to honor the seven men who graduated from the program that month and to celebrate the clients with March birthdays. During the ceremony, the ARC recognized the men who had been sober for 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and six months.

Attendees praised and applauded graduates for their courage and perseverance as they bravely shared their heart-felt stories. Graduates encouraged men in every stage of the program to continue down the path to recovery and served as an inspiration to everyone in the room.

“I stand before you a very blessed man,” one graduate said. “I’ve seen firsthand the love that comes from the staff and from my brothers in the program. We can do together what we could not do alone.”

Graduates credited their recovery to the relationships they have built with God, which they said were made possible because of the ARC counselors’ guidance. The men also thanked the Women’s Auxiliary for their continuous support and involvement in the monthly banquets.

“Coming to these events every month means so much to us,” one graduate said to members of the Women’s Auxiliary. “Knowing there are people out there like you who care about what goes on inside this building gives us the strength to create a better life.”

Feelings of hope flooded the room, and all attendees could see the power behind the work of The Salvation Army. From the men who had just graduated, to the men who had been sober for a week, to the ARC counselors and staff, to the families and volunteers, everyone in the room was inspired to keep “doing the most good.”
